Overflowing

What a sweet week it was.
The week started with a my second doctors appointment since my surgery. I found out a few different things... The doctor started by telling me that my bone graph moved a millimeter from where he put it, SAY WHAT? I guess I took one too many falls over the past few weeks. Good news - apparently it aint no thang. I was instructed to
1. be more careful aka stop falling, HA! This wouldn't be a challenge for the average person, too bad I've made falling an art
2. slowly start bearing weight starting TOMORROW aka start walking - PTL
3. don't even think about driving for another 6 weeks - bummer. who would have thought I would ever be sad about not being able to drive? Weird.
Overall I was told exactly what I was expecting. Thank you for praying for my appointment and for continued healing. Each new day is a new step in recovery and a new day for the Lord to remind me that He is in control.

The rest of the week involved reuniting with best friends, The Civil Wars concert, hanging out with Vince's precious parents, celebrating birthdays, Harry Potter and getting my nose pieced... true story. I wish I could say I did it on a spontaneous whim, but it was more like a loooong time coming-thought out-calculated decision. My dad still hasn't seen it so it might be a very short lived thing, but as of right now I am diggin' it.

One of my favorite parts of the week was when Vince's mom insisted that Meredith and I go with her on her 2 mile walk... they walked, I scootered. Take a second and picture it... the word hysterical doesn't even begin to describe. I gave up once we got to the second hill, sorry not sorry... half a mile is pretty good for a girl that can't walk. We sat on the side of the road until she finished her walk and came back to get us in the truck. When she picked us up she brought us one glass of water with 3 different colored straws and then we finished watching So You Think You Can Dance. She is just the best.

Overall it was a good time in Austin, sweet time with my best friends and wonderful time to just rest in the Lord.

"Come away with Me for a while. The world, with its nonstop demands, can be put on hold, rationalizing that someday they will find time to focus on Me. But the longer people push Me into the background of their lives, the harder it is for them to find Me.
You live among people who glorify busyness; they have made time a tyrant that controls their lives. Even those who know Me as Savior tend to march to the tempo of the world. They have bought into the illusion that more is always better: more meetings, more programs, more activity.
I have called you to follow Me on a solitary path, making time alone with Me your highest priority and deepest joy. It is a pathway largely unappreciated and often despised. However, you have chosen the better thing, which will never be taken away from you. Moreover, as you walk close to Me, I can bless others through you."
-Jesus Calling
Gosh, those are some good words.
