I dove into the world of Narnia a few days ago. I’m only 94
pages in and I can say with confidence that I am a fan and I have been missing
out. The whole story keeps making me think of the adventure that it is to be a
believer. The twists and turns, the struggles and triumphs, the rising and
falling action, conflict and resolution-All the while resting in the fact that
we have the ultimate happy ending waiting for us. We can take heart knowing
that the greatest victory has already been won. Every believer’s life has the
make up of an incredible story, written by the Master Storyteller. I long for
my life to be full of that kind of adventure. I don’t want to play it safe.
Jesus wasn’t safe. He was a rebel. A radical. A renegade. He
ventured into the unknown places with the hard people. He fraternized with the
bad and befriended the worst. He banished the demons. He loved and cared to
know the outcast, the unlovable, and undesirables. He stood up to the proud and
tore down the self-righteous. He disregarded the law in the name of the gospel.
He was fearless. He was dangerous.
I long to be dangerous in the sight of My God and more than that,
in the eyes of my enemy. I long for satan to shutter at my name and be afraid
of the damage I cause to his schemes and the truth I use to combat his lies in
the name of my King.
I long to be a force.
A radical.
I want to be like Aslan.
To be like My Jesus.
He isn’t safe. But He's good. He
is the King, I tell you.
Jesus,
Reign on your throne as king. In my
life and the lives of all. Make us dangerous Lord. Dangerous for you, in the
name of your kingdom and glory and gospel. Lord I long to fight in your name
for your people. I want to shine your light far and wide, in the deepest,
darkest places. I long to see eyes open and captives set free in Your name. I
long to see your goodness in the Land of the living. Jesus make me like you.
Make me dangerous.
Amen
