Today is a happy day! It’s Meredith Josephine Cain’s 20th birthday! Gosh she’s old… Just kidding Mere! YOU ARE NOT OLD and 20 isn’t as scary as you think. I promise. Meredith is my person. The person that laughs at my stupid jokes, tells me everything I bake is good (even when it’s inedible) and understands me better than anyone on the planet. She’s at camp right now so I can’t celebrate her birthday with her… sad day… so I decided to blog about her. She is going to be mortified. Good thing she is 1 of my only 2 readers.
In honor of her turning 20, here are 20 things you may not know about MJCain
1. Her favorite place in the world is Laity Lodge Youth Camp. Where she is currently spending her summer loving on kids, playing ball and doughnut, and perfecting her Chaco tan.
2. She is a ROCK STAR camp counselor. She loves each and everyone of her campers so incredibly well! Even the ones that are allergic to peanuts, shake her bunk and act like know-it alls.
3. The girl has got some rockin’ taste in music. If you don’t believe me look at her itunes, get in her car or ask her to make you a CD (She will! She’s really nice like that!). She really knows how to bump the jams.
4. She doesn’t like broccoli.
5. She is always down to watch a movie, rent a movie, go to the movies, or watch the movie she just watched again.
6. Her favorite shows include, but are not limited to, One Tree Hill, Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice, Greek, Parenthood, Make It or Break It and Friends.
7. She is a stud basketball player. Varsity as a sophomore… can you say balla?
8. Every Christmas Eve her family opens up a bottle of wine, for those that are of age, blares the country music and two-steps around her kitchen island. Gosh, her family is fun.
9. She LOVES her family so much and genuinely enjoys each and every minute she gets to spend with them.
10. She really loves the environment. Not in a ‘I’m-one-with-the-trees-hippie’ kinda way but in the fact that she buys recycled paper, doesn’t use plastic bags and cringes at the sight of a water bottle being tossed into a fire. Why use plastic bags at the grocery store, when you can carry things in your hands?
11. She buys organic, lactose free milk and she is not lactose intolerant.
12. She’s always down for a dance party.
13. She rocks a cardigan better than anyone I know.
14. She does not have a competitive bone in her body.
15. She is real good at Spanish. Don’t let her tell you otherwise.
16. She loves shoes. Toms, Nike Dunks, Converse, cowboy boots, anything but heals.
17. She loves the color purple.
18. She loves Jesus with her whole heart and is endlessly devoted to figuring out what He is trying to teach her everyday.
19. She loves people well. Really well. Whether she has known you for five years or five minutes, she has a beautiful way of making people feel important, special, and loved.
20. She has absolutely no clue how stinkin’ cool she is.
